The Secretary of Anti-Corruption and Good Governance of Mexico, Raquel Buenrostro, informed that the authorities are conducting a 'detailed' audit to find possible omissions or irregularities in the derailment of the Interoceanic train in December in the state of Oaxaca, which left 14 dead.

The official stated to the media that the objective of this investigation is to see 'that there has been no omission' on the part of any company or public servant that may have caused the fatal accident.

Although this is something routine, the head of the Anti-Corruption Secretariat pointed out that, although there was an investigation in 2025 of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec Interoceanic Corridor, of which the derailed train was a part, it will now be audited 'more detailed in order that justice is done'.
